FAQ

How to choose the right napkin

Which napkin size should I choose – 25, 33 or 40 cm?

25×25 cm is the small napkin for coffee, desserts and bars. 33×33 cm is the most commonly used size for restaurants and cafés. 40×40 cm is a larger napkin for lunch and dinner service, well suited to hotels and higher-end venues.

Is one ply or two ply better?

A two-ply napkin is thicker, softer and more absorbent – suited to more upscale service. A one-ply napkin is more economical and works well where consumption is high and quick.

What is the difference between border and full embossing?

With border embossing the relief runs only along the edges and the centre stays smooth. With full embossing the relief covers the whole surface, giving a bulkier look and a softer feel.

What is the difference between a 1/4 and a 1/8 fold?

With a 1/4 fold the napkin is folded in four and is square. With a 1/8 fold it is folded once more and forms a narrow rectangle. The choice depends on how you serve – for example napkin holders or placing with the cutlery.

What format should I send my logo in, and what can be printed?

Your logo is best supplied in vector format (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG) so the print is sharp. We print in one or two colours – ideal for logos and text, but not for photos or colour gradients. Before production we prepare a proof and show it to you for approval.
